Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use the website of Test Garage (347a Wallisdown Road, Poole, BH12 5BU), book a service, or have work carried out on your vehicle. By using our service you agree to these terms.
Bookings and quotes
- Prices shown on our website are starting prices unless stated as fixed. Final prices depend on the actual work needed and any parts required.
- Quotes given over the phone, by email or via our online form are estimates only. We'll always confirm the price before starting any work.
- When you book online, we'll contact you to confirm the date and time. A booking is only confirmed once we've replied to you.
- If you need to cancel or change a booking, please give us at least 24 hours notice.
Work and parts
- If we find additional work needed during a service or repair, we'll always contact you for approval before doing it.
- We use OEM-quality or manufacturer-specified parts unless otherwise agreed.
- Parts and labour are guaranteed for 12 months or 12,000 miles (whichever comes first), provided fair use.
- We can't be held responsible for pre-existing faults that only become apparent after we've started work.
Payment
- Payment is due on collection of your vehicle unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- We accept card payments and cash. We do not currently accept cheques.
- Vehicles will not be released until payment has been received in full.
MOT testing
- MOT pass certificates are issued by the DVSA. Failure to pass an MOT is determined by DVSA standards, not by us.
- If your vehicle fails an MOT, we'll quote separately for any repairs needed.
- Re-test fees may apply if you don't bring the vehicle back within 10 working days.
Liability
We carry public liability insurance. Our liability is limited to the value of the work carried out. We are not liable for indirect losses, loss of earnings, or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Vehicle storage
Vehicles left with us are at your own risk. We take reasonable care but cannot accept responsibility for theft of or damage to personal items left in your vehicle. Vehicles not collected within 14 days of completion may incur storage charges.

Disputes
If you have a problem with our work, please contact us first — we'll always try to put things right. If we can't resolve a dispute between us, you may be able to use an alternative dispute resolution scheme. These terms are governed by English law.
Changes to terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page with the “last updated” date at the top.
